If you're shopping for a manufactured home in Monroe, West Monroe or anywhere in Ouachita Parish, you'll probably come across Jessup Housing's Elite series at Monroe Home Center on US-165. This post covers who Jessup Housing is, what comes standard in an Elite home according to Jessup's own spec sheets, and how four Elite floor plans compare on size: the Jackson, Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Madison. That should help you choose which ones to walk through first.
Jessup Housing builds the Elite series. Jessup's website lists its address as 1001 West Loop 340 in Waco, Texas. The site sorts its floor plans into two lines. One is the Elite Series. The other is a Promotional Series, which Jessup labels "limited time only."
The Elite lineup on Jessup's site runs from the 2-bedroom, 1,065 sq ft Nixon to the 5-bedroom, 3-bath Royal. Several plans fall in between. Monroe Home Center carries Jessup alongside Kabco. Its website says it has "the largest selection of Jessup homes in the region," which is the dealer's own description. If you want to see a specific Elite plan, call before you visit to confirm what's on the lot.
We checked the Jessup spec pages for the Jackson, Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Madison. They have a lot in common. Each page lists:
The Jackson and Madison pages also list 42-inch overhead cabinets with 3/4-inch hardwood doors, a farmhouse sink with a spring-loaded faucet, a stainless side-by-side refrigerator and a smooth-top range.
Each page also has a "popular options" list. Depending on the plan, that list includes upgraded insulation, a 50-gallon water heater and gas appliances. Jessup notes that specifications are subject to change without notice. Use these lists as a starting point and confirm the exact build sheet with the sales team before you sign.
Here are the four Elite plans featured on Monroe Home Center's site, from smallest to largest. Sizes come from the dealer's listings, and the beds, baths and square footage match Jessup's pages.
The Jackson: 3 bed, 2 bath, 1,191 sq ft (16' x 76'). The Jackson is the only plan of the four that's 16 feet wide, so it's the easiest to fit on a narrower lot. Jessup's spec sheet lists a 72-inch deck tub and a 48-inch fiberglass shower with a glass door, plus a 54-inch tub/shower in the guest bath. It's one of the most-viewed homes on Monroe Home Center's site this month. See the Jackson.
The Roosevelt: 3 bed, 2 bath, 1,680 sq ft (32' x 56'). The Roosevelt keeps three bedrooms and adds almost 500 square feet compared to the Jackson, on a 32-foot-wide footprint. Jessup lists a 60-inch fiberglass shower with a glass door in the primary bath. See the Roosevelt.
The Eisenhower: 3 bed, 2 bath, 1,800 sq ft (32' x 60'). The Eisenhower is four feet longer than the Roosevelt and adds 120 square feet. It suits buyers who want three bedrooms with more living space. Its primary bath also has a 60-inch fiberglass shower with a glass door, according to Jessup. See the Eisenhower.
The Madison: 4 bed, 2 bath, 1,920 sq ft (32' x 64'). The Madison is the largest of the four and the only one with a fourth bedroom. Jessup's spec sheet lists a 96-inch ceramic tile shower with dual shower heads in the primary bath and a 60-inch fiberglass tub/shower in the guest bath. The kitchen has a tile backsplash and pendant lights over the island. The Madison is also one of the most-viewed homes on Monroe Home Center's site this month. See the Madison.
All four plans have two bathrooms. Going from the Jackson to the Madison adds 729 square feet and a fourth bedroom. Monroe Home Center's site also features other Elite plans, including the Wilson, Lincoln and Patton.
Start with your land and your household. A narrow or wooded lot in the parish may only fit a 16-foot-wide home like the Jackson. A family that needs a fourth bedroom will be choosing between the Madison and the larger Elite plans. For three bedrooms with more room to spread out, compare the Roosevelt and the Eisenhower side by side. The difference is 120 square feet and four feet of length.
Once you've narrowed it down, ask the Monroe Home Center team which options are included on the home you're looking at. Also ask what delivery and setup to your property would involve.
Monroe Home Center doesn't list prices for these homes online, so the way to get a price is to ask for a quote. The team can price the plan you like, go over options and explain financing. You can also look at the financing page before you visit, or check current specials.
